GUMBO NATIONALS MINI STOCK/FOUR CYLINDER RULES
The Gumbo Nationals Four Cylinder Mini Stock rules are crafted with the intention of allowing most of the cars that race at Mid South area tracks eligible to compete in the Gumbo Nationals. Those cars that compete regularly at not only Greenville Speedway, but, Central Mississippi Speedway, Columbus Speedway, Magnolia Motor Speedway, North Alabama Speedway and Riverside Int. Speedway and tracks in Arkansas should be able to compete in the Gumbo Nationals.

WEIGHT LIMIT: Allowed 1 lb. per CC with a minimum weight limit of 2000 lbs. with driver anytime. Total weight will depend on the total CC and weight penalties. KNOW YOUR TOTAL CC WITH BORE AND STROKE UPON ARRIVAL AT THE TRACK. CC AMOUNT MUST BE CLEARLY DISPLAYED ON HOOD OF CAR.
WEIGHTS: Any attached weights must be securely bolted to frame, and must be painted white or florescent orange and have car number clearly painted on them. Due to the high risk factor involved, any car that loses a lead weight during any event will be disqualified for that race and may be banned from the track for the season and/or fined. Two attaching mounts are recommended. No weights may be attached to rear bumper. No lead pellets – no liquid weights.
BODY:
1. Any 2 or 4 door domestic or foreign car with 90 inches to 105 inches wheel base. No front wheel drives.
2. Cars must have full stock appearing metal body.
3. Glass, chrome, mirrors, and flammable materials must be removed.
4. The fenders may be cut for tire clearance.
5. The dash may be removed. Pedals must remain in stock position.
6. Engine must remain in stock position.
7. Doors must be welded or bolted shut.
8. Cars may be hulled. Must retain stock floorboard and front and rear firewalls.
Rocker panel must remain in tack on both sides. 4 inch spoiler allowed.
ROLL CAGE AND CHASSIS:
1. A four point roll cage is required as a minimum. A full cage is allowed for safety. The roll cage may not alter the original suspension geometry of the car but only to serve to protect the driver.
2. Wheel base must be stock for make and model of car.
3. No jack screws or weight jacking devices allowed.
4. Frame and suspension parts must remain stock for make and model of car. No truck or homemade frames allowed. Frames cannot be lengthened or shortened.
5. Springs must be stock type.
6. Any shock allowed, no more than one per wheel. No coilovers.
7. Must have a minimum of three door bars in left door, four recommended, and two in the right door.
8. No spacers, blocks, or chains to alter suspension. Lowering blocks allowed on rearend of car. No sliders allowed.
9. Racing type seats are required and must be securely fastened.
10. Seat setback shall be no more than stock position.
11. Quick release safety belt with shoulder harness is required.
TIRES AND WHEELS:
1. Tires will have a seven inch minimum width and a ten inch maximum width. No Mud grips.
2. Wheels must be steel. Bead lock wheels allowed.
3. Dirt tires are recommended.
ENGINE:
1. Must be four cylinders. 2525 CC maximum.
2. Stock heads and block are mandatory. Add 25 lbs. if ported and polished. Stock intake manifold; aftermarket intake must add 25 lbs. No aftermarket or racing heads allowed. Stock crank only. Aftermarket stock length rods allowed. No billet, titanium, or aluminum rods allowed.
3. Stock replacement pistons allowed. No racing or high performance type pistons.
4. Motorcraft or Holley carburetors, 2 barrel only, 2 inch maximum spacer plate. 5. No fuel injectors or turbos.
6. Headers allowed, no 180 degree headers.
7. No rear engine, mid engine, rotary engine, or dual cam engines.
8. Ignition system must be stock.
FUEL SYSTEM and FUEL SAFETY:
1. Electric fuel pumps are allowed where a mechanical fuel pump cannot be used. Any electric fuel pump must be wired through an oil pressure switch located on the engine block.
2. Fuel cells may be relocated for safety. Cars must have a firewall between driver and fuel cell.
3. Fuel is to be gasoline only. No alcohol.
4. Fuel lines routed through the driver’s compartment must be encased in steel pipe.
TRANSMISSIONS AND DRIVE TRAIN:
1. Transmission must be stock manual or automatic. Transmission must have working reverse gear.
Must have a stock and working torque converter.
2. Aluminum flywheels and small clutches allowed.
3. All cars must have a working starter.
4. Rearends must be stock type. No truck or quick change rearends allowed.
5. Rearends may be locked by welding the spider gears.
6. Manual transmissions must have an explosion proof bellhousing or a shield between driver and clutch assembly
